Short Bio
Kiersten Parsons Hathcock, author of Little Voices: How Kids in Spirit Helped a Reluctant Medium Escape and Heal from Abuse is an award-winning self-taught carpenter/furniture designer, and founder of Mod Mom Furniture, a kids’ furniture company featured on ABC's Shark Tank. She’s also a TEDx speaker and an intuitive medium who works for the National Institute for Law and Justice helping detectives and families uncover truth in missing persons and homicide cases. In her previous work life, Kiersten was a staff writer for Northern Arizona University and TV marketing executive for A&E TV Network and The History Channel. An Ohio native, she now resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband, Scott, daughters, Natalie and Grace, and pup, Scout.
Longer Bio
Kiersten Hathcock is no stranger to taking risks. As founder of Mod Mom Furniture, she left a marketing career with A&E and The History Channel in 2003 to spend more time with her kids and built an internationally-known furniture company out of her garage. The self-taught carpenter and furniture designer braved ABC’s Shark Tank, won an angel investment deal, and grew the Mod Mom brand internationally for almost two decades. Kiersten's designs have been featured in TV shows, People Magazine, New York Times, LA Times, and international design books. Her award-winning furniture has been sought after by celebrities like Christina Applegate and Matthew McConaughey, interior designers, and retailers from 17 different countries.

At the age of 36, Kiersten unexpectedly awakened to her intuitive mediumship gifts. As a skeptic and science-minded mom of two, this was not easy. She ultimately risked her reputation to follow her intuition. This risk led to partnerships with detectives around the country and a book deal for her memoir, Little Voices (Post Hill Press). Retired NYPD Detective Mark Pucci penned the foreword for Kiersten’s memoir after working with her as an evidential medium volunteering her time on cold cases. He credits Kiersten with saving his life during an investigation.

Together in 2021, Kiersten and Mark co-founded The National Institute for Law and Justice (NILJ), a non-profit that helps families of crime victims in search of missing loved ones and answers in homicide cases.

In addition to heading up NILJ, volunteering as a medium, and working with Hollywood producers to adapt her memoir for the screen, Kiersten is the Chief Marketing Officer for Moonshot—a 23-year-old nonprofit that helps entrepreneurs across Arizona and beyond. She currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband, Scott, and pup, Scout.

Sample Intro to Podcast Interview/Show
“To most who know her, Kiersten Parsons Hathcock is a Shark Tank-winning, self-taught carpenter & furniture designer who defied the odds and built an internationally-known kids’ furniture company out of her garage. What most don't know is that she's also an ordinary, science-minded mom who was thrown into extraordinary circumstances at the age of 36 when she suddenly started seeing and hearing spirits of deceased children, some of whom were killed by predators. Her intuitive awakening led to partnerships with detectives around the country and a traditional publishing deal for her a soon-to-be released memoir called Little Voices, out September 20th. You'd think it would end there, but there's more. Little did Kiersten know at the time, the kids weren't just coming to her for help...they were coming to reveal dark secrets from her childhood and save her from a predator in her midst. Please welcome my guest Kiersten to the show."

Foreword by Mark Pucci

Decorated NYPD Detective (Ret) and the founder of The National Institute for Law and Justice

Spending most of my adult life as a detective, private investigator, or investigation supervisor, both in public service as a detective in the NYPD and in the private sector working cases nationwide, I unconsciously developed a sixth sense--an implicit intuition--for reading people and uncovering the truth. While most of the police detectives and professional investigators I know and have worked with will not openly admit to using their intuition to solve cases, it’s succinctly presumed that following our gut feelings often makes the difference in discovering hidden evidence to solve a case. In certain extreme circumstances, intuition may even prove to be the factor that inevitably saves your life or the life of your partner....
